Our spring ’17 edition of Quilts from Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks hits newsstands this week, and we’re so excited to share it with you! It includes 16 new quilt patterns inspired by the original blocks from our 100 Blocks issues. There are throw, bed, wall and baby quilt patterns, a bonus mini quilt, a photo tutorial for flanged binding and more. Designers featured in the issue include Nancy Mahoney, Kate Colleran and many more. Take a peek:
Spot Lights: QM acquisitions editor Lori Baker placed her Laser Beam block (#1315) from 100 Blocks Vol. 14 in a simple setting and added some intriguing pieced borders to create this sparkling design. The twin-sized foundation-pieced quilt finishes at 72″ x 84″.
A Rose is a Rose: Lerlene Nevaril rotated her Windy block (#1389) from 100 Blocks Vol. 14 to create this lovely quilted flower garden. Lerlene’s choice of pretty pink and green fabrics gives the simple pieced design a springtime feel. The throw finishes at 56″ x 56″.
Spin Cycle: High contract black, gray and white fabrics work so well together on this intriguing throw quilt design from Nancy Mahoney. Nancy combined the section from her Tilted Tile block (#1326) featured in 100 Blocks Vol. 14 with its mirror image to create the dynamic block. The design is foundation pieced and the finished size is 64″ x 64″.
Filtered Light: Isn’t this a neat design? QM associate editor Gigi Khalsa created this throw quilt used her Layered Lanterns block (#1382) from 100 Blocks Vol. 14. The colors in the quilt look transparent, thanks to the specific color placement in each of the blocks.
